Christmas at Lake Lyell

.Sofala was our first camp after Forster. An old gold rush town with some historic buildings and a great camping area down by the creek a couple of kms out of town. Kangas and great bird life. No photos we were too busy taking it all in. Phil and I enjoyed a cold one at the hotel which was very unique.
Next stop was Lake Lyell, a large lake with waterfront camping a short distance from Lithgow. We got the kayak out and fished for bass and brown trout that were allegedly in abundance, not for us unfortunately. There were lots of people enjoying jet skis and speedboats.
Christmas dinner was home smoked salmon and giant Aussie tiger prawns and a few more prawns on the BBQ
We are the camper trailer in the right of the group of three

12 December Forster

Our first attempt at set up. We managed it without an argument which was a good thing. We had some awesome weather but a complete downpour as well. I think it was a good job we seasoned the canvas!

Note the napkins Mum!

A successful fish at Smith's Lake, well it was for one of us! 1-2 the score but to who, scroll down to find out!

The two beauty's pictured were caught by Philippa. Two Whiting cooked by Simon on our new Weber, thanks to Steve, Louise, Rosie and George.

Dog bed fail!

View from our chair at the campsite, can you spot the moon?

UK photos!

CWe saw many wonderous things in the cold, wet and grey! But we coped by sinking a few in the many 'old' pubs.

And of course we had a great time catching up with family and friends. I (Philippa) did see lots of family members though few photos were taken but happy memories.
